February 5-6 Pro Stock Showdown/Supreme Sportsman Series LVMS Neil, Scott and myself decided to attend the Pro Stack Showdown, hoping
to get rid of a few cobwebs and get some seat time after 2 months off. We all entered Pro Class (no E to you
guys back east) in the new Supreme Sportsman Series. Weather was once again predicting rain but we all decided
to take a shot. Friday was overcast and a little chilly, but we all got our shots in and were raring to go Saturday
morning. Got to track Sat am, no rain. According to our schedule first round of eliminations wasn't until 2 that
afternoon, so I decided to skip the "run for the Money. The call to the lanes for run for the money went out, Scott and
Neil went up, I proceded to take the cover off my car and went up to the tower to say "hi" to everyone. Next
thing I know it's raining, race called until Sunday, car is wet! I don't have an enclosed trailer, and my car has spent
the last 22 years of its life under a roof when not being raced. Neil and Scott were staying at the track for the weekend,
so when a break in the rain came he wiped it dry and put on my Californis Car Cover (see shop talk under the "Latest
News" tab). Sunday morning came, and the skys were clear. Because
Neil, Scott and I all race in Pro, when we are called to the lanes we have a routine. Scott always leaves first,
then Neil, then me. The call came, and when I pulled up everything look good, no chance of meeting one another
in the first round. Wrong! A couple of dragsters (which in my opinion belong in Super Pro) in front of Neil
upset out stradgety. Long story short, Neil beat me for the first time. The kid cut a better light than I did,
and I broke out by 2 thou trying to catch him. Congradulations, Son, on a job well done!! As I get older I'm sure the
"win-lose" record will tip in your favor. Scott's new blown combination never wavered from it's 11.55 dial
all day, he finished off the weekend with the win in Pro. Way to go, buddy! All in all, a good weekend for our
group. Our first points race is the 5-6th of March, we are all looking forward to seeing old friends and new faces. Check
