Supreme Sportsman Series Feb 5-6 & April 10-11
2-14-2010

New for 2010 is the addition of two new events dubbed the "Supreme Sportsman Series".  Created by Chris Blair, vp of Racing Operations @ LVMS, the two events intend on capturing the touring Sportsman Racer.  Both events should succeed, as the first is ran the week before the NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, Ca and the 2nd the week before the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals in Las Vegas.  Along with Indy, these events are at the top of most Sportsman Racers "must attend" races.  The Winternationals, for the debut of new teams, new cars , new paint jobs and new faces.  It's usually your first competition event of 2010, a chance to see if all the hard work during the off season did any good, will you end up chasing or being chased at the end of the weekend. This event gives you a chance to knock off a little rust and settle back into your routine.  As for Vegas, nothing else really needs to be said.  Treat your sponsor to a weekend of great food, entertainment, throw in a little gambling, and, oh yea, some great racing to cap off the weekend.  Treat a potential sponsor with a "free" weekend for them and their family, and you might just leave with enough money to run the full season.  Bring along the wife and kid's, there's plenty to occupy their time away from the track.  I could go on and on, just remenber, do not to visit Vegas to on the "Governments Dime" or "spend your kids college tuition" while you are here!  For more information visit lvms.com.
Product Review:  California Car Cover
To set the record straight, the folks at California Car Cover don't know about this "review".  While I have used their product for more than two years now, I did not know how well it really worked until last weekend.  It rained pretty much non-stop in Vegas for 12 hours, and when we took the covers off our cars Sunday morning I saw the difference between a "car cover" and a "California Car Cover"!  Neil uses an "economy" chain auto store cover, while I opted to spend a buck and a half more for mine.  When Neil took his cover off, he spent another 5 minutes drying it off!  I, on the other hand, took off the cover and went straight into "warm up" mode.  My cover had kept the Challenger dry thru a rainy night, and the locking "teather" kept it from blowing away in the wind.  I could'nt have been happier!  The cover also keeps out dirt and dust, and just plain feels good to the touch.  If you need a new cover and can't make up your mind, remember, not all covers are created equal.  When you are ready for a new cover, give the people at Californis Car Cover a call, you'll be glad you did.
